2017 is fully underway and so is the club. This Monday marks the start of indoor training and retribution to life choices over the winter months. Details of indoor training can be found on the Facebook page and if you don’t do Facebook we keep track of the last 10 posts on the main website. While I know many reapers continue to train on their own time I would encourage the older members to try and make it out to a practice. It’s quite helpful for new players to have someone taking time and showing him how to correctly and safely do things. Jessie Ramsey will be running most of the indoor trainings when she can. I can’t remember the club without Jesse anymore and will be key in building the women’s program up with new VP of women’s Joe Tichkowsky (Note, when using Dragon Dictate it translates Tichkowsky -> to kill ski. )

With Roger Bevan leaving to go back home with his young family is bittersweet but we thank them for volunteering over the last couple of years. Following in the tradition of the club with having an assortment of accents at the helm, Sam Greenwood and Monty Tichkowsky have agreed to help fill the void from Roger. Both Sam and and Monty have fairly busy summer jobs with the industry that they’re in so there will be times where people from the club will have to pitch in and pick up gaps in training. Sam tells me he’s also floating the idea of building a house so I’m sure we can all lend a hand or at least go to his yard and drink beer all other people to work.

New VP of Men Chase Lettvenuk has started to trial team snap. If you don’t see an email from him in the next couple of weeks please reach out to him so he can add you to the program. Team snap is a program for mobile devices to keep you up-to-date on games and the ability to say whether you’re coming or not to the games. Hopefully this will clear up any last-minute changes before kickoff. Also chases leading clothing for the club. We really do you want to keep stock low to avoid having a lot of outstanding money” not being used effectively “. That being said if you have your own ideas or want to see something done please step out and help chase.

April 22 marks our first fundraiser of the year. It will be a name that two or something along the lines of minutes when it. It will be a couples event not strictly for ladies. Still finalizing what that will actually be please contact myself if you’re able to volunteer. One idea that has been put out is auctioning off team members which I think is a great idea. We have a talented batch of people with inside the club that I’m sure lots of people would like to get a couple hours of your time. I myself will be putting myself up for four hours of IT work. If you have a class 1 or you’re good with a hammer or anything else please let me know. The goal of the event is to raise enough money to build a shed at the playing field.

Also as the junior/ high school approaches more refs will be needed. Please look at taking a reefing course to help grow the sport
